We are excited to open the submission window for Workshops and our Cross-Country Research Showcase for the virtual SCO-SCO 2026 Conference. The deadline for submission is May 31st, 2026.

Workshops

  • Length: 2 hour, ½ day, full day

  • Application

We invite proposals for interactive online workshops for members of our ornithology community. Workshops should provide practical skills, methodological training, or collaborative problem‑solving relevant to ornithological research, monitoring, conservation, and outreach across Canada.

Cross‑Country Research Showcase

  • Deadline: May 31st 2026

  • Date: October 7th 2026

  • Length: 20min

  • Application

We invite lab groups from academic institutions, government agencies, and NGOs to submit research talks showcasing the breadth and depth of their work in Canadian ornithology. This symposium is a prime opportunity for your team to highlight:

  • the research themes and core questions your lab investigates

  • the ecosystems and regions you study across Canada

  • focal species and conservation or management implications

  • methods and collaborative approaches (field work, lab techniques, modelling, community science, Indigenous knowledge partnerships, etc.)

Who should apply

  • University research labs and graduate student groups

  • Government research units and wildlife agencies

  • NGO conservation and research teams
